It’s been a while since our last official Calle Ocho three room salsa/kizomba/bachata party (Spring Bank Holiday Party end of May actually), as we did a kizomba special called “Lusofonica” in July. So it’s time for the original Leeds salsa/kizomba/bachata superclub to come back. Welcome to our “Calle Ocho Autumn Party 2018” at our usual venue The Faversham Leeds.

In the main room, we are giving our resident salsa DJs the floor for the whole night plus we have a guest international salsa dance teacher taking classes. In the kizomba room, we have a duo of two of the north’s top kizomba DJs. And our third room sees the welsome return of the bachata den/

SALSA ROOM

On the decks for this one are the two Calle Ocho Leeds salsa bosses and salsa DJ A-Team in the north of England for over 2 decades…..DJ Lubi & DJ Fabio Bahia. From Casa Latina 1995-2002 to Salsoul 2002-2007, Rumberos 2008-2010 to Calle Ocho 2010-present day, they have been the leading salsa DJs and promoters up north. As well as their popular clubnights they are resident salsa DJs at Revolucion De Cuba sites in Manchester, Leeds and Harrogate and the chief promoters of live salsa outside London.

They will be playing the usual great inclusive mix of salsa, Cuban music and mambo for all dancers, the winning combination that still works 8 years on since the day we launched Calle Ocho. This room opens at 10pm after the dance classes and rocks to 4am.

We are happy to announce the first ever Calle Ocho Leeds salsa dance class by international dancer/teacher Gormack Dione. He has been teaching salsa dance classes for 2 decades in France, Spain and London and even spent a few years mid-2000s teaching salsa dance classes in Leeds for DJ Lubi’s Salsoul sessions. He’s now based in Manchester where he is teaching regularly at Revolucion De Cuba and running his own classes. It’s good to have him back in Leeds.

Two salsa dance classes for all levels of dancers (on1 crossbody). Classes start 8.00pm.

KIZOMBA ROOM – Leeds x Manchester Jam

Our resident DJ Sean Wilson (Kizomba Manchester) is away DJing this summer/early autumn in Lisbon Portugal so we’ve got two great DJs covering this room. Local hero DJ Dico is well know across the north, a real kizomba king. Resident weekly DJ at the Kizomba Leeds parties every Friday plus monthly DJ at Revolucion De Cuba Manchester’s kizomba party. Joining him is the dynamic Mr Juu from Manchester, king of afrobeats/afrohouse and also well know across the north as guest DJ at all the big parties. They both smashed it at our Lusofonica party in July so it’s great to have them back at The Faversham. Room opens 11pm and rocks to 4am.

BACHATA – it’s back!

For the first time since April, our bachata room is BACK. Once again our bachata queen DJ jane Salsaldi is hosting this middle room and playing the best classic and new Dominican bachata, bachata moderna and sensual bachata. She’ll be helped by our Calle Ocho resident DJs Fabio Bahia and MrB.

Doors : 8pm for the dance classes – 10pm for the party
