¡VAMOS! Leeds Festival once again returns to Millennium Square as part of the annual ‘Summer Series’ on Sunday 21 July.
¡VAMOS! – one of the UK’s biggest and longest running community arts festivals covering Spanish and Portuguese speaking cultures is now in its fifth year in Leeds!
Curated by DJ Lubi Jovanovic (Calle Ocho/Soul Rebels/¡VAMOS! Leeds) it features a diverse programme of colourful live music acts, dance workshops and performances, family friendly activity and sumptuous Latin American street food and drinks!
On the day we are thrilled to welcome two international music acts…
First up, La Inédita
Direct from Lima, Peru, La Inedita combine a Peruvian Chicha flavor mixed up with Raggamuffin and Dancehall. Think Peru meets Jamaica!
We also welcome Ortiga
From Spain… As one half of Spanish hit act, ‘Esteban & Manuel’- this new solo project combining pop, cumbia, salsa and electronic Merengue is made for the dancefloor!
Jam packed support on the day also comes from:
▶ Son Yambu – with Cuban Son and Salsa vibes via London
Dance Emporium Salsa Kids – a group performance from the next generation of salseros!
▶ Mestisa – acoustic quartet with Andean and traditional Latin American compositions
▶ Dance Emporium Samba Team with Samba meets Baile Funk
▶ Suéli Gil Band – with sun-kissed Brazilian Bossa Nova / MPB
▶ Ella Mesma Dance – with a brand new youth dance project ’The Masks We Wear’
▶ Leeds Samba – Unidos do Ritmo – with authentic Brazilian Samba and carnival drumming
And the best Latin DJs in the North with DJ Fabio Bahia, Lubi Jovanovic and Chris Welch – spinning the tunes between all the acts throughout the day!
Plus a diverse selection of Latin American street food stalls and fully licensed bars.
Under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
