RE:SOUL 029

Another GREAT RE:SOUL in October for session 028. Project Hilts tore the roof off the place with their hip-hop/soul/jazz fusion. The RE:SOUL house band smashed it and so many great artists sat in, from seasoned jazz elders like London tenor saxophonist Jeff Gordon (onetime member of The Jazz Warriors big band), to first year Leeds College Of Music students. Such a gas!

So, the final RE:SOUL of 2018, session 029, is on Monday 26th November and once again we feature a new Leeds College Of Music band for the showcase. Welcome to Narcle. So new they have less than 100 followers on their Facebook page and just put out their first 2 demo tracks on Soundcloud. That will change very soon as this 6 piece deep soul/jazz-funk band are definitely going places. Get down 9pm to catch them live.

The all-star RE:SOUL band once again take the stage at 10pm for the jam session. Any musicians, singers, MCs wanting to sit in, hit us a direct message to our page or contact musical director Harry Fowler via his personal Facebook page. You know the score. We post a list of potential jam tunes in this event and on our page in the next few weeks. If you want to perform an original or even a specific cover, pass it by Harry and he’ll see if the house band can learn them in time. Only guidance we give is that they are in the RE:SOUL vibe….deep soul, neo-soul, jazzy hip-hop beats, groove based jazz (as opposed to swing based jazz).

DJ Lubi back on the decks after skipping 028 when DJ Agent M played some killer jazz hip-hop beats. The jazzman returns. He’s also our host for the night.

Doors 8pm. Narcle 9pm. Jam 10pm. Curfew 1am. Great drinks promos on beers and spirits. Fantastic live and DJ music. Entry is, as always, FREE!!!!

This is the LAST RE:SOUL of 2018. Thanks to all the bands, artists, DJs, jammers, groovers and listeners who have been down this year, our 3rd since we launched. Big shout out to The Wardrobe for hosting us and sound man Oscar Abela for making the live music sound so good.
